The 50-euro benefit in kind is a non-monetary benefit that your company offers its employees every month worth up to 50 euros as recognition and a motivation boost. With this benefit, you finance benefits in a wide range of categories such as shopping, mobility, food, fitness, (mental) health, education, travel and entertainment - completely tax and social security free, as long as the 50-euro exemption limit pursuant to Section 8 (1) sentence 3 EStG is not exceeded. Legal Framework

There is an important exemption defined in § 8 Para. 1 Sentence 3 of the German Income Tax Act (EStG). Currently, this exemption is set at 50 Euros per month. This means that non-cash benefits that do not exceed this limit are exempt from taxes and social security contributions. If the limit is exceeded, the entire amount becomes subject to taxes and social security contributions.
